Obama logo design

Because of my job I have a particular interest in branding, positioning, and logo design, and I've been very impressed by the Obama campaign. The "change" positioning has been extremely consistent and clear, and they've created a system of visual assets that is used extremely well throughout the campaign. This video gives an inside peek at what went into the logo design. Enjoy!

Thanks for posting this. I like the logo a lot, but I didn't "get it" for a long time. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a cherry. Have you seen the round cakes decorated like the symbol? We were going to make one for election day and didn't get around to it, but I think we'll make it for the inauguration.

I wanted to add that I was part of a few conversations where people were trying to figure out what the symbol 'meant.' Kind of interesting, as we had different interpretations. Probably a good thing when it's not too constraining, yet still symbolizes things within the range of what you want.

I was fascinated by the various approaches. It's a great advertisement for the power of what you do. Dad
