The honeymoon is over

For the first two weeks, Andrew slept a lot, and when he did fuss, he was relatively easy to calm. We saw a dramatic change starting on Saturday, the beginning of his 3rd week. He is suddenly fussing a lot more, and he is much harder to calm. Here's a picture of what he looks like when he's really going at it. Poor guy! Sometimes it seems there isn't much we can do for him, which is tough on us. We're doing our best... wish us luck! Posted by Picasa

Our Kids

Julia likes to be near Andrew, as in this case where she wanted to lay down next to Andrew on the couch. She's giving us her special smile that she has started using only when posing for the camera. : )

Benne and Julia hang out on the deck

Benne came over for a visit on Friday and entertained Julia out in the backyard. Julia LOVES visits from her Benne (Grammy)!

Grandpa's visit, and the almost-snooze

Andrew is such a cuddly little chest warmer that Dad almost fell asleep while visiting his grandson! What a sweet pair.

Nathan Turns Two!

Nathan's birthday party was so much fun. Here are some cute pics from the day:

Bathtime for Andrew

We gave Andrew his first real bath this morning, with Julia helping out. He didn't seem to mind much at all, and in fact seemed to really like being held in the sink for a rinse from the faucet. Jeff did a great job handling the slippery little tyke like a pro. Posted by Picasa

Swim class in the new pool

The new pools opened this week at Burgess Park, about 4 blocks from our house. Julia will be taking swimming lessons every Saturday morning. She had a lot of fun this morning in her first lesson! Posted by Picasa

Treasures from Aunt Barb

Look at these delicious, soft treasures Andrew just received from Aunt Barb! My amazingly talented aunt Barb Smith MADE this quilt and the stuffed elephant. They are the most precious things I have ever seen. You can't tell from the picture, but they are incredibly soft. The quilt has already become my favorite thing to snuggle Andrew up in. Soooo cute! And we've named the elephant Sprinkles. It will be fun to watch how quickly Andrew gets bigger relative to him. What treasures... thank you Aunt Barb!
