Lemos Farm again, this time with Grammy & Grandpa
Julia has been talking about the "baby animals" and Pee Wee the pony ("hee haw!") ever since we went to Lemos Farm with Nana and Grumps earlier this month. So today we went back, this time with Grammy and Grandpa. It was just as good the second time around.
She rode the pony -- twice...
She went on the train...
She fed the goats...
And she rode the bikes...
A great time was had by all!
Brunch shower and toddler playdate
The wonderful group of moms I met through the Stanford Hospital mother's club have stayed together since the births of our first babies (all a few weeks apart from each other). We get together frequently for various playdates and outings, plus once a month for for a Friday night "Girls Night Out". Three of the six of us are now pregnant with our 2nd babies, and the other half threw the three of us a brunch shower and play date. It was so sweet, and so nice to be celebrating the coming arrival of #2 with the moms who saw me through #1. My pictures of the event came out terribly -- it's impossible to capture 6 toddlers well... but at least you can see 5 of the six of them in this picture (Sara is off camera.) It was such a nice event.

Step one of phase one: Crown moulding
We moved into the new house in November, and it took me a while to figure out what improvements I wanted to undertake, and in what order. I finally came up with a multi-phased plan, and step one of phase one -- the crown moulding -- is finally underway this week. Keeping in mind that it will look a lot different after it's painted, here's what it looks like tonight:
Next week, the interior doors are being replaced, and we're widening access to the closet in the room that will be Julia's. The painter will come after that, and finally we'll install carpeting in the back of the house, which will complete phase one. The hope is to get it all done before the baby comes. Keep your fingers crossed!

After a hard morning of working in the garage
We worked all morning out in the garage, trying to get it organized. We came in for a lunch break and by the time I got lunch ready, my two workers were sacked out on the couch together. Julia doesn't fall asleep outside of her crib too often anymore, so this was such a sweet moment I had to capture it.

Evening playtime
When Daddy comes home at night, Julia yells out "Dada home!" when she hears the door open. Then they play together in the front room. Tonight we started out on the couch, Julia on my lap, and Daddy brought in a plate of crackers and cheese. He sat down on the hearth and Julia immediately left my lap and carefully positioned herself right next to Daddy on the hearth, legs crossed (lower left pic). They also had fun with the "pity" (blanket) which Daddy fashioned into a kerchif (middle bottom). Later she covered him up with it and patted his tummy, saying "nite nite" (top right). It's such a nice way to end the day.

Heading out
This morning we headed to Lemos Farm in Half Moon Bay with Nana and Grumps who are visiting for the weekend.
The routine of leaving the house and getting in the car is such an everyday thing I would never think to take pictures of it, but Grumps had his camera out and it seemed kind of fun to see ourselves doing these everyday activities.
